The Story Behind Peninsula Learn
Peninsula Learn started with a simple idea: that learning a language should feel personal, enjoyable, and within reach, no matter your age, level, or background. It’s built around one teacher, one passion, and a belief that the best lessons happen when you feel supported.
Meet Noemí
Noemí Louro grew up in Barcelona, surrounded by languages. Spanish at home, Catalan at school, and a curiosity about the wider world that led her to study French, Italian, German, and even Arabic along the way.
Her first career was in art history. She holds a Master’s Degree from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, but when she moved to Ireland, a new path opened up. It started with something small: teaching Spanish and Catalan to the children of other Spanish families who had settled in Ireland. Parents who wanted their kids to stay connected to their language and culture.
That spark turned into something bigger. Noemí discovered she loved teaching, and she was good at it. She went back to study, earning a Diploma in General ELE Teaching and a Diploma in Teaching Children and Adolescents from Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes. She also holds a Catalan C-level certification and French qualifications up to DALF level.
What started with a handful of expat families grew into a full teaching practice. From community centres in Malahide and Portmarnock to GAA clubs, primary schools in Wexford, and online classrooms connecting her with students across the country.
Today, Noemí teaches Spanish, French, and Catalan to learners of all ages. From five-year-olds having their first encounter with a new language, to adults picking one up for the very first time.
How Noemí Teaches

Every lesson is designed around the learner. Their goals, their pace, and what actually keeps them engaged.
- For children, that means play-based, communicative methods: songs, stories, games, and hands-on activities that make language feel like fun rather than homework.
- For teens preparing for Junior and Leaving Certificate, it means focused grinds on grammar, past papers, oral prep, and listening. Structured but never boring.
- For adults, it means a relaxed, judgement-free space where it’s okay to make mistakes, ask questions, and go at your own speed.
Every learner is different, and Noemí takes the time to build a plan that works for each one individually.
